I visited Dr. Levy’s new office at the Boca West Hospital Campus yesterday as a first time new patient, based upon the strong recommendations I received from other folks in the Orthopaedic Surgical field. I must say I was genuinely impressed with all aspects of the practice, and the extremely thorough evaluation I received. The office was very efficient. I was taken in only minutes after arriving for my scheduled appointment. I had a series of radiographs taken of both shoulders immediately by the kind X-ray Technician. Then I was taken to an exam room. And within two to three minutes Sara Dr. Levy’s PA came into the room, and performed very through range of motion exam, and asked me questions regarding my shoulders. She spent ample time reviewing my X-rays and discussing the findings. She offered a steroid injection for my my most problematic shoulder. She was most kind and professional, and most knowledgeable. Sara spent as much time as I needed to answer questions, and did not give the impression She wanted to rush out of the room ! Dr. Levy came in the room, after Sara’s exam. Dr Levy was most gracious and friendly like what was related to me by my aforementioned referral sources. He was most ethical, and said I was a candidate for surgery, but said “ when I was ready, He was here for me “. Dr Levy appeared was genuinely concerned about my case, and spent adequate time with me, explaining treatment options. There is nothing than I can think of that would, or could have made my office visit and more professional efficient, friendly, or through. Dr Levy and Sara are the pinnacle in my opinion. I fell and dislocated and broke the humerus in several places on June 27, 2020. I had emergency surgery and that surgeon recommended, almost insisted that I follow up with Dr. Levy. He said Dr. Levy is the absolute best in shoulder repairs. I was lucky enough to get an appointment and on July 7 Dr. Levy did a reverse shoulder replacement. I am at the end of Phase I recovery and it is going really well. I have no doubt that I will have full recovery. Dr. Levy, Sara and everyone at Holy Cross that cared for me were wonderful. I went through this in the midsts of the COVID pandemic and they were all amazing. They took care of me as if I was their only patient. I will forever be thankful for all of them. Dr. Levy rocks!

Patient Story - Shoulder Cyst

I was impressed with Dr. Levy the very first minute I met him, which was after I had met his assistant, Sara, who was also excellent. They work as a team, so you are getting a second opinion on the spot. They work in perfect harmony together, from my first visit, to after the MRI, along with pre-op appointment. Dr. Levy greeted me before the surgery to go over any questions I had, which I did. He professionally tackled that problem with ease. Thank God, as I was one of the lucky ones, very little discomfort, only needing the pain meds for 10 days. After the surgery, in recovery, Dr. Levy was beaming, stating to me “I fixed it 100%” which was reassuring in my drugged out state. My injury was a bit complicated, as my rotary cuff .muscle was not only torn horizontally, additional vertical as well. I am highly recommending Dr. Jonathan Levy, along with Sara Blum, PA-C, NCMMC.

I just wanted to drop you a note of appreciation for my totally wonderful total shoulder replacement! I have been singing your praises to everyone who comes within in earshot, showing off my fabulous strength and mobility. I tell everyone (friends, relatives, local doctors, sailing/boating buddies that I am "the poster child" for your expertise.

My shoulder performed perfecting through all of my heavy-duty spring boat work on my beloved old wooden sailboat and is functioning flawlessly for sailing. I am so delighted that I didn't want to wait until I see you to tell you all this when we come back to Florida this fall.

I want to express my sincerest gratitude for your restoring my shoulder & my life. I had been suffering with excruciating pain for many years & went to quite a few physicians prior to meeting you & they were unable to help me. Needless to say you have been my savior, from the moment I awoke from thr reverse replacement surgery the intense pain I endured was totally gone. How can someone thank you enough for that. I am so grateful to Dr. Levy for giving me a text book operation. I said a pray that all will go well, and went under the knife. In the weeks that followed I realized that I had no complications.

After a week I had no Pain to speak of, very minimal at worst. Also after a week I removed my shoulder and arm restrictor many times during the day, since I live alone and had to bath and dress myself, but because of the skill of Dr. Levy I had minimal muscle damage and was able to function fairly well alone. I tried to use the arm and shoulder restraint, but felt it only restricted me from doing what I had to do in my daily routine, so I kept taking it off. Within two to three weeks it was history. I also want to mention that I was fortunate to have a very nice therapist named Fuseli who showed me, and monitored my exercises.

I thank Dr. Levy and his staff, Sara his “PA”, and Jason his nurse who always got back to me to answer any questions I had. I also thank the receptionists, the secretaries, the special technicians, of “Holy Cross orthopedic Institute” who facilitated all my required needs according to prodigal and through the instructions of Dr. Levy.

When I came to your office about one year ago I HAD MUCH PAIN AND discomfort in my right shoulder. You diagnosed my problem and suggested surgery. It took me several months and more pain to agree to surgery.

This is a strong recommendation on reverse shoulder replacement. My name is Richard Kasbarian. I am 74 years of age. I had DR. JONATHAN C. LEVY and his assistant SARA BLUM do an Operation on my left shoulder on November 17th, 2009. At the present time, I have full use of my left arm. This operation was done with very little Pain and Discomfort to me. I tore my Rotator Cuff Muscle and it could not have it repaired because it was torn before and couldnt be repaired again. After more than twenty years of constant pain resulting and almost total immobility of my left shoulder, Dr. Jonathan Levy recommended a total shoulder replacement. From the start I was extremely impressed by his professionalism and his expertise on shoulder replacement surgery. The procedure was explained to me in every detail prior to the surgery. Sara Blum his assistant, did a complete work up and further explained everything that would take place.

Surgery took place on February 2, 2010, my new shoulder was virtually pain free immediately after surgery. I wore, as prescribed, a shoulder stabilizer for exactly six weeks during which time Dr. Levy and Sara Blum put me on a regimen of limited exercises involving the wrist and elbow and one minor exercise for my new shoulder. After my stabilizer was removed Dr. Levy put me on a program to increase range of motion.

My shoulder is pain free for the first time in over twenty years, and I continue to work on improving my range of motion which is already far greater than I have had in recent memory.

Suffering the excruciating pain of a failed shoulder replacement, I presented a baffling problem for my surgeon who called on Dr. Levy for a solution. Dr. Levy performed the reverse shoulder joint replacement for which he is so well-known. Now he has also replaced my other shoulder joint and I am already enjoying pain-free activities. Given my family's longevity history, I look forward to several more years - maybe outlasting my five-year old cat. I am eighty-one and grateful each day to have so benefitted from the expertise and caring of Dr. Jonathan Levy.
